via Jakarta Globe, 09 May 2024: Borobudur Temple in Central Java is preparing for the Vesak celebration from May 18-25, expecting thousands of Buddhist pilgrims. The festival, organized by InJourney, aims to enhance Borobudur’s status as a major religious tourism destination, promoting religious tolerance and harmony, and will include live-streamed events to a global audience.
The festivals aim to reestablish Borobudur Temple as a focal point for religious activities among Buddhist followers in Indonesia and beyond, with live streaming planned to reach numerous countries, Maya added.
Moreover, the Vesak festivals will serve to promote religious tolerance and harmony in the diverse nation.
“We hope the message from Borobudur Temple will transcend national boundaries, showcasing how the diverse people and cultures in Indonesia can coexist harmoniously,” Maya said.
