Penelitian Balai Arkeologi Papua bersama Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Daerah (BP4D) Teluk Wondama berhasil menemukan Situs Triton di Pulau Roon.
“Situs ini terletak di tepi pantai, berada pada lereng bagian bawah Bukit Kampung Menarbu, Distrik Roon, Kabupaten Teluk Wondama, Papua Barat,” kata Hari Suroto, peneliti senior di Balai Arkeologi Papua di Kota Jayapura, Minggu.
Untuk menuju situs ini, kata dia, dengan naik perahu sekitar 15 menit dari Kampung Menarbu.
