via Silpa-Mag.com, 28 July 2019: If you’ve been to the Grand Palace in Bangkok you might have seen this replica of Angkor Wat near the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Why is it there? This Thai article explains its origins. TLDR: A Thai king wanted to bring the entire temple to Bangkok in the 19th century (when the area was under Thai control) but it proved to be too challenging so a miniature replica was built instead.
