The Thai government is cracking down on unsightly souvenir stalls at the Ayutthaya World Heritage Site.
Eyesore souvenir stalls ordered out of old Ayutthaya

After bringing law and order to Hua Hin beach, the military regime has set its eyes on a new target – the World Heritage site in the old capital.
The province has received an order from the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to take action against souvenirs sellers causing an eyesore for tourists at the site, with the area around Wat Mongkol Borpitr the first target.
All 300 stalls around the temple’s main pavilion must be moved to a designated area by the end of September, provincial governor Witthaya Phiewpong said on Tuesday.
