After almost a week of tense showdowns between the Thai and Cambodian army, the day started with a hopeful note as officials from Thailand and Cambodia meet to defuse the meeting. Negotiations proved unfruitful, however, as both sides could not come to an agreement about the territory surrounding the temple in dispute. The talks is now both armies could be staying for months – surely this can’t be good for either country?
