via Khmer Times, 20 October 2023: King Norodom Sihamoni will officially inaugurate the restored causeway bridge at Angkor Wat on November 4, 2023, enhancing visitor management with designated entrance and exit points.
Repairs on the bridge began on 2016 under the cooperation between the APSARA Authority and Japan’s Sophia University.
Since 1989, Japanese Sophia University has been involved with the APSARA Authority in many activities to support the Angkor site in terms of training human resources in archaeology and architecture, excavation at Banteay Kdei temple, heritage education programmes for people and students living around Angkor, and the initiative to establish the Norodom Sihanouk Angkor Museum.
