via various sources, 06 July 2024: PT Semen Indonesia (SIG) received recognition for its efforts to conserve the Bulu Sipong IV rock art site in South Sulawesi. The company presented its developing Cultural Heritage Management Plan at the recent SPAFACON. This initiative, spurred by an assessment from the Norwegian Pension Fund, aims to ensure sustainable management of these ancient sites. Some important disclosures to note here, as I have some personal involvement in this story: SIG was a sponsor at the recent SPAFACON, and they asked me for a quote for this story. I am also part of the assessment team that led to them developing a management plan, and my comments should not be seen as an approval of their plan, which is still under development.
