via Khmer Times, 10 February 2024: The Apsara National Authority has installed three wooden handrails at Angkor Wat’s Preah Poan Gallery and the pathway to Bakan Tower to enhance tourist safety and preserve the temple’s integrity. The handrails, made of steel covered with wood to prevent rust and maintain aesthetics, aim to facilitate navigation, especially for the elderly and during rainy seasons, and prevent damage to the temple stones.
The Tourism Services Inspection team of the Department of Tourism Development and Culture of the Apsara National Authority has installed three wooden handrails at Angkor Wat to facilitate the safety of tourists.
The team installed the wooden handrails at Preah Poan Gallery in the middle and on either side of the Preah Poan Gallery going up to Bakan Tower of Angkor Wat.
The head of the working team, Bou Phaneth, said that the installation of these wooden handrails facilitated the ups and downs of tourists and also helped prevent accidents to tourists that may occur.
