The Maritme Asia Heritage Survey is expanding its project into Vietnam and looking for staff. Details in the link below.
The Maritime Asia Heritage Survey (MAHS) works to locate and digitally document critically endangered heritage sites, structures, objects, and manuscripts across four countries in Maritime Southern Asia: Indonesia, the Maldives, Thailand, and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the MAHS works in partnership with the University of Danang and Center for Building Up Sustainability (BUS) to conduct fieldwork at selected sites. Our new full-time Field Survey Team in Vietnam will employ a combination of cutting-edge technologies and traditional survey methodologies to produce records for an open-access on-line database of the diverse and distinctive cultures and histories of the region – and to securely archive that information for future generations. The MAHS is supported by the Arcadia Fund and based at the Kyoto University’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies.
The MAHS is now recruiting for several full-time positions on its Vietnam Field Survey Team.Successful candidates will be required to travel extensively with the Team to a number of different provinces in Vietnam for up to ten months each year.
