via Khmer Times, 13 February 2023: The Apsara National Authority announces that restoration of the west gate of Ta Prohm is now complete.
The Apsara National Authority was pleased to announce that restoration of the west gate of Ta Prohm is now complete. Ta Prohm temple and its west gate reopened to the public over the weekend.
The west gate is the main entrance to the iconic temple. The west gate was closed to visitors in January to permit maintenance and installation of support beams in the centre of the gates to ensure the safety and security of tourists.
The restoration project was undertaken with an international team of archaeologists. Restorations at the temple are financed by the Government of India under the auspices of the “India-Cambodia Cooperation Project for the Preservation and Restoration of Ta Prohm”.
