This obituary hits close to home. The former Centre Director of SEAMEO SPAFA, Dr M R Rujaya Abhakorn, passed away yesterday morning. He was my former boss, and in fact he hired me straight out of my PhD to my current role at SEAMEO SPAFA. He served as the Centre’s director for three terms before retiring in 2018. I will forever be grateful to him for the opportunity to work in my day job in overseeing the centre’s archaeology programme, and he gave me a lot of freedom to develop and execute the programmes. He once mentioned that part of the reason he took me on was because of the work I did on this very website. RIP.
