กรมศิลปากรไม่อนุมัติให้บินโดรนไลดาร์ระบบเลเซอร์แสงเหนือพื้นที่อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพ แม้ท้องถิ่นยืนยันว่าสำรวจเพื่อประโยชน์ส่วนร่วม
จากกรณีที่สภาวัฒนธรรมอำเภอศรีเทพและสภาวัฒนธรรมจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ร่วมกันใช้โดรนไลดาร์ (Lidar) ระบบเลเซอร์แสง บินสำรวจอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพและบริเวณโดยรอบ เพื่อสำรวจแหล่งโบราณสถาน และการตั้งชุมชนโบราณอย่างละเอียด ขนาดพื้นที่การสำรวจประมาณ 50 ตารางกิโลเมตรด้วยงบประมาณไม่ถึง 200,000 บาท ตั้งแต่วันที่ 19 ม.ค.2565 ที่ผ่านมา และมีกำหนดสิ้นสุดการบินสำรวจในวันที่ 1 ก.พ.2565 นั้น
