The number of foreign tourists who visited Bagan in September reached a record low compared to previous years, according to local tour operators.
“Currently, there are only a few foreign visitors. September is usually a month when few visitors come. But this year, it’s a record low compared with previous years. But it’s a relief that many local tourists still came,” said Zaw Win Cho, a veteran tour guide in Bagan.
