via Khmer Times, 09 October 2023: The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, through the Apsara National Authority, has initiated a call centre and a Telegram channel to facilitate permissions for taking photographs or videos at the Angkor Archaeological Park. This move comes after criticism for previously prohibiting visitors from capturing images within the site. The service aims to streamline the process and also offers other services like building and renovation permits.
The launch of the new mechanism came after the authority received criticism for prohibiting visitors from filming inside the archaeological site.
ANA added that the introduction of a call centre and Telegram channel allows the public and organisations to access services like taking pictures and videos, through an efficient and quality online system.
The Telegram channel is named “Service Centre of Apsara Authority” and the contact phone number for the call centre is 014 222 599. After people request permission to take photos or videos, the authority issues an online permit to show the park officials.
