via Khmer Times, 06 September 2023: The APSARA National Authority warns tourists against feeding monkeys in the Angkor resort area following incidents where monkeys have bitten and injured visitors.
The Apsara Authority posted on its Facebook page that the call for tourists to stop feeding monkeys in the Angkor resort area came after a monkey bit a 50-year-old American tourist this morning, injuring his right neck while visiting the Bayon temple.
At the same time, the APSARA National Authority’s tourism agent immediately rushed to wash the wound and advised him to be vaccinated at the hospital to prevent further infection.
