via Khmer Times, 09 June 2023: Angkor Archeological Park in Cambodia aims to attract more foreign tourists this year, leveraging factors such as a new airport providing more direct flights, promotional efforts, and efficient pandemic management.
Angkor Archeological Park, which is one of the major attractions for tourists across the world, is looking to welcome more foreign guests this year, according to a top official.
The Angkor park, which welcomed 344,757 foreign tourists in the first months of this year, also earned $16 million in revenues from ticket sales.
“We are hopeful that the number of foreign tourists will increase in the remaining months of the year due to a number of factors. They include the opening of a new airport, which will provide more direct flights and destinations, promotion from the Ministry of Tourism (Visit Cambodia 2023), press, hotels, etc. Besides, Apsara’s Facebook and Instagram accounts are now available in English,” Seng Sotheara, Director, Department of Tourism and Cultural Development, Apsara Authority, told Khmer Times yesterday.
