Penelitian Balai Arkeologi Papua di kawasan Danau Sentani Bagian Barat, Kabupaten Jayapura berdasarkan penilaian tim reviewer Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud), memperoleh predikat penelitian terbaik.
“Jadi di Indonesia ada 10 balai arkeologi dan 1 pusat penelitian arkeologi nasional, tahun 2019 ada 118 penelitian, dari sejumlah 118 itu dipilih 6 penelitian terbaik, penelitian arkeologi di Danau Sentani masuk dalam 6 penelitian terbaik nasional,” kata Hari Suroto, peneliti senior dari Balai Arkeologi Papua di Kota Jayapura, Rabu, 27 November 2019.
