Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Institute of the Malay World and Civilisation kicks off a two-day seminar today to develop a blueprint for research and tourism development at the 1,700 site in Kedah, the northern peninsular Malaysian state. Bujang Valley was in the news recently when a team from Universiti Sains Malaysia discovered evidence for iron smelting last month.

A seminar is to be held over two days from Tuesday to help develop a blueprint on the 1,700-year-old Bujang Valley Malay civilisation in Malaysia to tell the world of its existence.
The seminar is being organised jointly by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) via its
Institute of the Malay World and Civilisation(ATMA) with the Malay Heritage Centre, Faculty of Architecture Planning and Surveying of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and the Malaysian Archaeology Association.
