The five-story, durian-inspired building will feature diverse artifacts and artworks from Davao City and the region, aims to be fully operational for its October debut, offering free admission to visitors.
Jason Arceo, Museo Dabawenyo head, said the durian-inspired structure, Mindanao’s iconic fruit NMP building’s three phases, were already completed in terms of the building’s construction.
“Ang division is naa na sa planning and research para sa ilang mga kailangan isulod (in the museum),” Arceo said.
Arceo said during their meeting two weeks ago, they were informed that the NMP building was supposed to open in August this year in time for Kadayawan but was moved to October to ensure its full operations.
The NMP building was turned over to the local government units (LGUs) last November 2023.
