via USM News, 04 Febrary 2024: Researchers from Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Global Archaeological Research Center have made significant findings at the Bukit Choras Archaeological Site in Yan, Kedah, uncovering parts of a temple structure, Buddha statues, inscriptions, and pottery fragments dating back 1,200 years. Para penyelidik daripada Pusat Penyelidikan Arkeologi Global (PPAG) Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) meneruskan aktiviti ekskavasi pada struktur candi di Tapak Arkeologi Bukit Choras, di sini untuk mendedahkan sebahagian lagi struktur candi utama tersebut.
Terdahulu, hasil daripada ekskavasi fasa pertama telah mendedahkan sekitar empat puluh peratus (40%) daripada struktur candi Bukit Choras bersama dua buah patung Buddha diperbuat daripada stucco, prasasti beraksara pasca-pallava, kalam semah yang diperbuat daripada batu lumpur dan serpihan tembikar tanah.
