via Phnom Penh Post, 08 April 2023: Remarks made by the head of the National Authority for Preah Vihear after recent inspections.
National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV) director-general Kong Puthika on April 7 lauded ongoing conservation and restoration work on structures at the “Temple of Preah Vihear” UNESCO World Heritage site, and encouraged the men and women on the job to forge ahead towards completion, in the interest of heritage value.
This came during an inspection of the job, led by Puthika, NAPV noted in a statement, adding that work involved the construction of steel stairs at the eastern side of Preah Vihear temple proper, and repairs to the stairs on the north side of Gopura V, the northernmost of the five gopuras – or pavilions.
