National Museum seeks traditional Khmer household items for conservation, exhibition

via Khmer Times, 05 August 2022: The National Museum of Cambodia is seeking traditional household items for an upcoming exhibition.

The National Museum of Cambodia is planning an exhibit of traditional household items used in daily life and to achieve this, the museum sent out a request to the public to donate any items they have to the museum.

Director of the National Museum of Cambodia Chhay Visoth said yesterday that the museum always welcomes any kind of traditional Khmer household material from people, which is so important for the next generation to see at the museum.

“I am afraid that those traditional Khmer household items may disappear soon as people are using them less and less and forgetting about them. The national museum welcomes all those household material and it doesn’t matter if they seem too old or broken,” he said.
