via Antara, 14 June 2022: National Archaeology Day (Hari Purbakala) is celebrated in Indonesia on June 14.
National Archeology Day or Hari Purbakala, which is commemorated every June 14, was celebrated on Tuesday by the staff of Borobudur Conservation Center (BKB) by cleaning the Borobudur Temple in Magelang District, Central Java.
In the “Reresik Candi Borobudur” activity, BKB employees cleaned the temple manually by brushing the temple stones to remove dirt or moss and spraying them with water.
Head of the center, Wiwit Kasiyati, said the cleaning is required to preserve the temple and prevent damage.
