via The Sun Daily, 20 September 2021: The moat of Penang’s Fort Cornwallis is scheduled for restoration by the end of 2024.
Fort Cornwallis, one of the first landmarks in Penang listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2008, would have its moat to be fully restored to its former glory by the end of 2024.
State Housing, Local Government and Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo (pix) said the state government has recently approved the budget to implement the moat reinstatement project for the 18th century bastion fort in George Town.
