Sarawak Museum Department would like to cordially invite you to attend our virtual conference which will be held on 𝟐-𝟑 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏.
Theme of the conference is in-line with the International Council of Museums (ICOM)’s theme for 2021 “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒎𝒔: 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆” in which to create, imagine and share new practise and new models for cultural institutions and innovative solutions for the social, economic and environmental challenges of the present.
This conference aims to bring together different perspectives of museum practitioners across multi-disciplines to discuss the overall need for a change in the current year. Year 2021 will bring the concerted efforts from Sarawak Museum Department (SMD) for new direction in developments and strategies to bring the stakeholders recognition and lessons that we can learn from the past that offers a great opportunity to enhance the roles of SMD to support such endeavours.
