via Khmer Times 19 April 2021: A Cambodia reflection on Word Heritage Day which is celebrated on 18 March 2021.
Yesterday marked the International Day of Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day, under this year’s theme of “Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures”.
World Heritage Day was first celebrated in 1982, and established by UNESCO’s General Conference.
A report released by UNESCO on Friday said: “Together with ICOMOS (the International Council on Monuments and Sites), the UNESCO World Heritage Center supports inclusive and diverse points of view in heritage identification, conservation and transmission to future generations.”
