via Khmer Times, 23 October 2019: The APSARA Authority is fighting misinformation over images of garbage in Angkor.
The Apsara Authority yesterday urged the public to stop reposting old pictures of garbage at the Angkor Wat temple site to avoid confusing tourists.
Spokesman Long Kosal said the pictures do not reflect the current situation after the garbage had been removed.
“So please use pictures or images and content that reflect the real progress of the Angkor site area, especially the current activities of Apsara Authority such as preparing parking areas and planting grass, flowers and trees to attract more tourists to visit our temple,” he said. “We need to jointly work together to stop the circulation of outdated images in order to promote the beauty of our temple complex and contribute to the development of the national tourism sector.”
