Photo relates to Southeast Asian Archaeology and particularly a lovely and friendly Hmong schoolgirl I came across during my doctoral fieldwork at the Plain of Jars, Laos. I was captivated by her toothy smile but felt very sad for her heavy load and because she should have been at school rather than carrying a heavy load on her thin, child-like shoulders.
