via Khmer Times, 10 December 2021: The Khmer Times mentions Cambodia’s involvement in next week’s SPAFACON – we have the director of the National Museum Chhay Visoth sharing his perspectives of the museum during this impending time of reopening; and there are a couple other papers in the conference that deal with Cambodian archaeology and cultural heritage. More than 30 scholars on Southeast Asian archaeology, arts and cultural heritage will be convening to share their research on their fields at “Seameo Spafa International Conference On Southeast Asian Archaeology And Fine Arts (Spafacon2021)”. Cambodia will be sending tis experts to participate in the meeting.
The meeting will be held virtually and will go online from December 13 to December 17. It is the fourth meeting held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Seameo Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (Seameo Spafa), which is an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to the promotion of Southeast Asian archaeology, fine arts and cultural heritage.
The meeting will start with a panel discussion on the topic of “Archaeology And Cultural Heritage In The Time Of Reopening”. The panel discussion will kick off at 10 a.m. at December 13. The meeting will end with a panel discussion on the topic of “Geological Museum Innovation To Dealing With Covid-19 Pandemic”, which will be held on December 17.
