via The Star, 25 January 2020: Change in management comes in the wake of recent criticisms about the management of the Lenggong World Heritage Site (see here and here).
The Perak State Parks Corporation (PTNPk) will oversee the management of the Lenggong Valley archaeological site, says State Tourism Committee chairman Tan Kar Hing.
He acknowledged that the state lacked agencies with expertise in heritage management and selected PTNPk for the task owing to its background.
“PTNPk is involved in conservation work but more towards preserving flora and fauna.
“It will be a challenge but they are the best option for now, ” he said when contacted.
