Various ceramics and a kiln have been discovered in the city of Ha Long in Quang Ninh Province, where some of the ceramics still have the fingerprints of the artisans who made them.

Ceramic treasures and a kiln dating back to the 7th-8th centuries have been unearthed at Ha Long city’s Tuan Chau District in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
Excavations at the site, led by Dr Nguyen Tien Dong of the Viet Nam Archaeology Institute, revealed ceramic jars, bowls, dishes, pots and basins, most of which had been made using a wheel. The fingerprints of the artisans are still visible on several pieces.
