via Khmer Times, 29 September 2023: Angkor Archaeological Park is undergoing extensive beautification and infrastructure development, including new parking lots, toilets, roads, and bridges. The Apsara National Authority is also focusing on sustainable development by planting a variety of trees and improving tourist facilities within the temple complex. These efforts aim to make the UNESCO heritage site more attractive to both domestic and foreign tourists.
“Inside the temple complex, we have improved the facilities for tourists such as the installation of wooden stairs to stop the erosion of temple stone further,” he said.
In addition, the authority has trained staff in charge of tourist coordination, tourism services, general public order, first aid, among others so that they can carry out their tasks more effectively.
He noted that that the beautification of the UNESCO heritage area as well as the training of staff will make it more attractive for tourists.
