via Pacific Daily News, 17 September 2021: A University of Guam team receives funding to survey shipwrecks in Chuuk, part of the Federated States of Micronesia.
A University of Guam team led by Associate Professor William Jeffery has received grant funding to identify, survey, and help preserve the less-documented World War II sites, including three unlocated shipwrecks, in Chuuk.
The funding is a $150,000 grant from the American Battlefield Protection Program of the U.S. National Park Service, according to a news release from the University of Guam.
