via Khmer Times, 29 May 2021: Lots of pictures of Angkor if you’re missing Siem Reap.
The Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is Cambodia’s most popular tourist destination.
Located in Siem Reap province, the park attracted up to 2.2 million international tourists in 2019, earning a gross revenue of 99 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales.
However, it received only 4,482 foreign visitors in the first quarter of 2021, down 98.8 percent from 383,663 over the same period last year, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the latest report of the state-owned Angkor Enterprise.
