via Khmer Times, 04 August 2022: Cambodia has waiting list of sites it is waiting to nominate for World Heritage, including Banteay Chhmar, Angkor Borei and Phnom Dar, Phnom Kulen National Park, Beng Mealea, Prasat Preah Khan in Kampong Svay, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre.
The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts plans to apply UNESCO World Heritage listing for nine sites in Cambodia but is adopting a wait-and-see stance before submitting the applications to the world body.
The nine sites are Banteay Chhmar temple, Angkor Borei and Phnom Dar, Phnom Kulen National Park, Beng Mealea temple, Prasat Preah Khan in Kampong Svay, Phnom Odong, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre, and M-13, a former Khmer Rouge prison in Kampong Speu province.
