Applications are now open for the Asian Civilisations Museum Research Fellowship for 2012-2013. The research themes for the upcoming term are Peranakan material culture, Confucianism and Christianity in Asia (up to 1800).

US Embassy Invites Applications For Ambassadors Fund For Cultural Heritage Restoration

The United States embassy in Kuala Lumpur is calling on organisations in Malaysia to apply for its Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, a grant to preserve cultural heritage all around the world.

Its counsellor for Public Affairs, Scott Rauland, said the grant which started in 2001 had been given to 640 cultural preservation projects in more than 100 countries.

“This represents a contribution of nearly US$26 million,” he told Bernama, here, Sunday.

Earlier, he accompanied Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Judith McHale, on a tour of the restored No 8 shoplot in Hereen Street, here.

The Asian Civilisations Museum is calling for applicants for their one-year fellowship for 2011-2012. The focus of research for this round is on Buddhist Art, Guan Yin and the influence of tradition on contemporary art.

ACM Research Fellowship Grant

The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) in Singapore invites scholars specialising in Buddhist art, Avalokiteshvara or visual culture to apply for a 12-month research fellowship. The award period for the 2011-12 fellowships will commence from April 2011 through March 2012. The applications will be screened by a committee of eminent scholars and will be administered by the Research and Publication Unit (RPU) of ACM.

Applications close 15 January 2011.
