Weekend standoff at Preah Vihear

The situation at Preah Vihear remains tense over the weekend, including one alarming incident where both armies had their weapons drawn and pointing at each other. Fortunately, no conflict ensued, and all eyes are on the Monday meeting between the diplomats of both countries.

Preah Vihear simmers as more troops pour in

The troop count has escalated on both sides of the Tha-Cambodian border, although both armies have been showing unusual restraint (and there are even hints that the Thais do know they are on the wrong side of the border). Both governments have agreed to meet for talks on Monday.

Face-off continues at Preah Vihear

The tense standoff continues at Preah Vihear as both Thai and Cambodian troops (close to 600, at last count) face off at the disputed territory around Preah Vihear. The dispute seems centred around Cambodian settlers that have taken up residence on a patch of disputed land.
